Chimera
Photography and art for Chimera- a magazine that seeks to deconstruct and reassemble the identity of children of immigrants from the Soviet Union in the 1990s. Through interviews and styling, the magazine presents people who, in their childhood, were considered “too white” for Mizrahim, “too Russian” for Ashkenazim, and “foreign” both at home and outside of it. The project aims to express the liminal experience of “third culture kids” – those who grew up between the heritage culture of their parents and the Israeli culture into which they were born and raised.
